Part 4 of the WBC 2023 Classic featuring all the best players in the world at LoanDepot Park was in for more than it had imagined. Japan and The United States National Baseball team advanced into the semifinals, as did Mexico with a defeat over Puerto Rico. The store had been stocked with USA jerseys, Trout, Goldschmidt, Mullins, the USA team had arrived and fans were losing sleep over it. "I knew I was," I must have worked five or six overnights unpacking all the new merchandise and walking around the park snapping photos. But before the fans saw the US National Team take on Cuba, USA needed to beat Venezuela, and Puerto Rico and Mexico played one of the most memorable games of the WBC 2023. The fireworks began when Javier Baez and Eddie Rosario both homered off Mexico's starter Julio Urias. It was Julio Urias would give up through four innings and th ebullpen pitched shutout baseball the rest of the game. Mexico's run support came when Isaac Paredes homered in the bottom of the second off of Marcus Stroman and again in the bottom of the seventh with a two run single. The emotions of 40,000 fans came to life when USA and Venezuela squared off, USA jumped off to early lead with Nolan Arenado and Kyle Tucker hitting rbi singles, then later Venezuela reagined the lead with Ronal Acuna Jr hitting a sacrifice fly and Salvador Perez doubling. The fireworks came when Trea Turner connected on a game winning Grand Slam in the bottom of the eight inning. The stadium had taken in more than it had paid for and the following game against Cuba exhibited it. USA National Team defeated Cuba 14-2. It was on to the Finals USA vs Japan.
