First Day at LoanDepot Park, fantastic boundless summer working at Fanatics, I initially thought my job would be filled with stocking rolling rack levels, and completing tasks that involved handling exclusive World Baseball Classic and Miami Marlins merchandise.
"Bats, balls, hats, jerseys and a layer of Flashback and heritage."
Mornings usually started with me entering the stadium where players passed through and opposing teams walked by before entering the clubhouse. The first games were off to great starts, the fans were happy to see their fellow country men playing baseball and the media exposure would only increase as the tournament reached the Final game.
According to CBS Sports, Venezuela beat Dominican Republic 5-1, in the first game. Puerto Rico one of the favorites going into the tournament, beat Nicaragua 9-1. By the end of the first week, Venezuela had won all their games including a key victory over Puerto Rico.
Dominican Republic team was also playing well, with wins against Nicaragua and Israel.
