Marlins fall 7-5 in Fenway Park, Red Sox electrify in Patriot's Day uniforms

Brayan Bello's victorious pitching performance was on cruise control after the fourth inning; shutting down the Marlins - 3 up and 3 down; innings 2, 3, and 4 of Saturday’s game. Then in the fifth Troy Johnston connected on his first Major League home run over the centerfield wall, off of a full count pitch from Bello and into the hands of an unruly fan that through the ball back on the field.


Brayan Bello pitched over 5 innings again this season, for his 14th straight start and is 6-3 in his last 9 starts. The Red Sox’s young pitcher had great movement on his pitch and kept attacking Marlins hitters with the early lead.


Bregman and Story exhilarated Fenway, combining on 4 rbi's and 4 hits. In the bottom of the third, Trevor Story carried Quantrill's hanging breaking ball over the left field wall. It was the infielders nineteenth home-run, scoring Duran and Bregman; quick starting the offense which resulted in a 6-0 lead.


Then after Bregman in the bottom of fourth continued thrilling Red Sox fans with his first hit of the game, scoring Rafaela for a 7-0 lead. Bregman was also the star of last night’s game with his game tying double.


The Red Sox won the game with big hits from their star infielders and delighted the fans with their “City Connect Uniforms.” Boston’s faithful elegant jersey’s capture the color scheme of the Boston Marathon, which is held annually on Patriots’ Day in the city. 


“The City Connect uniform adopts colors that honor the spirit of Patriots’ Day weekend, and features ‘Boston’ in a stencil font across the chest paying tribute to the Boylston Street finish line,” the Red Sox said in a statement last week. “The numbers ’617′ are highlighted on the left sleeve as a nod to the area code for Boston and Fenway Park. The numbers appear within a racing bib, honoring one of the city’s most iconic annual sports traditions.


Marlins added runs in the bottom of the ninth off the bats of Hernandez, Wagaman, and Hill. Until Chapman got Sanoja to ground out for the game's final out. Marlins kept battling until the last out of the game, showing the resilience Coach McCollough talked about before the game.


”Keeping team focused , as you go course of season, believing in what you are going to fire at.”


The coach emphasized on the Marlins perseverance, clarifying that his team has shown they continue to fight.


 “Feels confident that his guys will continue to come out and give it their best, after not executing at the rate you want; just as you evaluate when things are going well, you need to do it when things aren’t. Easy to get frustrated, we all want to win every game. “
